Pastor Andy Coats continued his message today at Trinity Baptist Church about the importance of being Bold as Christians in the message that we share.
The statement that stood out the most to me today was, “People need to hear from you the proclaimed word of God … because we are no longer living as ‘One Nation Under God.’”
Pause and let that sink in for a moment.
He shared 3 Characteristics for Being a Bold Church:
1. Bold Evangelism
(Acts 4: 23-30)
We need to transform lives during the week and then invite them to celebrate Jesus with us on Sunday.
2. Bold Preaching
(Acts 4: 7-12)
3. Bold Praying
(Acts 4: 31-37)
If we aren’t praying, we are relaying on our own strength… and that won’t get us very far. When we get bold in our prayers, hearts start to change, we see radical generosity, and we see radical unity.
We started going to Trinity Baptist Church in May after more than a decade of not going to church at all. It has been the single best decision we ever made for our family. I wish we would have started much earlier in our marriage. We always made the excuse that we just didn’t feel comfortable not knowing anyone … or it just wasn’t the right fit. As we grew apart as a couple, God drew us into church, and our marriage has grown so much stronger through his Grace and the teachings we have found in the church.
