      Note: Until Reading Street book comes in, use the first two pages of the lesson plan guide.

MONDAY

Math

  • Topic: Skip Counting by Two’s
    • Video: Dancing 2’s – Jack Hartmann
    • Video: Number Rock Counting by 2’s
    • Worksheet: Hundreds Chart 21-40
      • Practice 2 times counting by 2’s from 2-40, using her finger to touch the even numbers and “hop over” the odd numbers.
      • Practice 2 times counting by 2’s from 2-20 by memory (without the worksheet).
    • Worksheet: Counting By 2’s (Where’s My Apple)
  • Topic: Common Core Subtraction Strategies
    • Video: Keywords for Subtraction (from Musical Math Vol. 2)
    • Workbook: Subtraction Vocabulary Builder

English Language Arts

  • Teach Subject of a Sentence
    • Video: Twinkle Trails (Subject & Predicate)
    • Video: School House Rock (Subject & Predicate)

  • Play Silly Sentences Game (3 Rounds)
    • Identify who the SUBJECT is in the sentences you make
  • Independent Writing: Continue “Thunder Cat Book”
    • Write independently for 15 minutes
    • Goal: 3 sentences (start with a Capital, end with punctuation)
    • Encourage: Draw a picture
    • Note: Helps to have Alexa play “Thinking Music” during this time.

Reading/Spelling

  • Reading Street: I Can Read
  • Fluency Passage: Jill Can!
  • Write Spelling Words 4 times each

Handwriting

  • Play the “Bump Game” – Practice Writing Name
    Practice writing name where letters “bump” the lines properly.  Letters should also “bump” each other properly.
    Watch for good spacing between letters (not too far apart, and not too close)

  • Functions of Government (National)
