Why worry?
That was the question behind the fantastic message Pastor Marcos Bellamy delivered today at Trinity Baptist Church.
Can worry help your situation?
Does worry help bring about a desired result?
Jesus already knows the things you are experiencing.
The average person’s anxiety is focused on:
40% things that will never happen
30% of things that have already happened
12% things others say about us
10% health issues
8% challenges we are currently involved in.
**** Matthew 6:25-34 ****
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

If Jesus said don’t worry, why do you worry?
To make the choice to worry means you choose to sin. Worry is the same as telling God, “I don’t trust you.”
**** Matthew 6:24 ****
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

In order for you not to worry, Jesus must be your number on priority. Otherwise, you will be torn apart emotionally, spiritually, and physically as you bounce back and forth between your relationship with Him and the other things you worry about when you put them before that relationship.
What does it mean to worry?
It’s to be consumed with fear and problems.
Many of us have learned how to spiritualize worry.
There is a difference between being Kingdom-minded and earthly-minded.
You worry about money, your career, your relationships despite all the things Jesus has already done for you.
When you choose to worry, you can’t add a single minute to your life. But you can take time away from your life. You takeaway from your productivity, your fruitfulness, and your quality of life when you choose to worry.
There are times when God wants you to rest in His presence. There are times when He needs you to trust Him and step out of your comfort zone and do something to help fulfill your purpose. When you don’t put Him first, you miss the opportunity to see your blessings.
The only way you’ll know when it’s time to go and time to stay is when you put God first.
Whatever problem or obstacle you’re facing, God is wanting to write a beautiful and powerful story of His Devine intervention in your life. It can only happen when God is your first priority.
